Back Home

This song wrote itself after hearing about the death by suicide of one of our community of artists and musicians.  It’s an event that’s had a really big impact on me, though I did not know the person well, for a lot of reasons … It seems senseless to lose someone so young and talented. It’s heartbreaking to think of how terrible it must have felt inside, how lonely.  It’s terrible to live with the guilt of not noticing, not being there, not doing enough … the wish for it to be untrue. The most awful part is that he will never see just what an impact his life had on those around him.  He will never know that he inspired, encouraged, and helped others … because we’ll never have the chance to show them.

PLEASE. If you’re having suicidal thoughts, PLEASE talk to someone.

LYRICS:

Oh the water’s much too deep to wade my love
Oh darling won’t you try to save yourself
Don’t you go astray
Don’t go to where you cannot find your way
Back home.

I know that it’s hard to be brave – hold on
I know that you’re afraid, but please stay strong
Reach out your hand to mine,
Don’t go to where you cannot find
your way back home.

Oh darling there are storm-clouds overhead
Don’t go wandering alone
cuz I don’t know where to find you when you’re lost inside your head
I just hope you always know where you belong

Oh, the water’s much too deep to wade, my love
Oh darling won’t you try to save yourself
Don’t you go astray,
Don’t go to where you cannot find your way
Back home

I’m so sorry for your loss *Hugs you*

We don’t have an iTunes account as of yet, but I’ll definitely look into it.

My biggest hope for this song is that it gets into the ear of someone who’s suffering alone, and that it encourages them to reach out to those around them for help and consolation.
